Would you like to considerably expand the functionality of WinCC for a sector-specific application? Do you want to integrate your own data in WinCC tools, e.g. the reporting and logging system? The WinCC options package Open Development Kit WinCC/ODK specifies open programming interfaces, which you can use to gain access to data and functions of the WinCC configuration and runtime system. The interfaces are designed as C-Application Programming Interface (C-API). Programming examples show the use of C# and VB.NET with WinCC /ODK.

Effective immediately, SIMATIC WinCC/ODK V7.0 is released for delivery. The option SIMATIC WinCC/Open Development Kit (ODK) V7.0 replaces the previous ODK version 6.0 SP4. The option package ODK enables the use of internal WinCC functions. The ODK makes data and functions of WinCC accessible to programming interfaces, which allows individual WinCC expansions to be created in scripts or programs.

The ODK permits the access to the following data:
* Tag Management data
* Archives
* Configuration data

With that, for example, the following applications are possible:
* Access to values from Tag Management or archives
* Generic configuration, e.g., generation of tags or screens
* Generation of alarms from application routines
* Control of the measured value logging from application programs
* Use of WinCC configuration dialog masks for in-house-developed software options
