For an introductory undergraduate course in control systems for engineering students.
Written to be equally useful for all engineering disciplines, this text is organized around the concept of control systems theory as it has been developed in the frequency and time domains. It provides coverage of classical control, employing root locus design, frequency and response design using Bode and Nyquist plots. It also covers modern control methods based on state variable models including pole placement design techniques with full-state feedback controllers and full-state observers. Many examples throughout give students ample opportunity to apply the theory to the design and analysis of control systems. Incorporates computer-aided design and analysis using Matlab and LabVIEW MathScript.

I found this book by chance in the library in our company. I'd studied aerospace engineering and specialised in flight control about 7 years earlier, and this book was perfect for me. It provided a refresher of the basics, and was a good introduction to the more advanced concepts like LQR, H-infinity control, etc., as well as helping me dust off my Matlab skills. But it might not be the best book for newcomers to the subject - but it does complement other books (like Ogata, Stevens and Lewis) very well.

This book contains a collection of papers presented at the 1st International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO). The purpose of ICINCO is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the application of informatics to Control, Automation and Robotics. The research papers focus on real world applications, covering three main themes: Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics and Automation, Signal Processing, Systems Modeling and Control

Decision making and control are two fields with distinct methods for solving problems, and yet they are closely related. This book bridges the gap between decision making and control in the field of fuzzy decisions and fuzzy control, and discusses various ways in which fuzzy decision making methods can be applied to systems modeling and control.

This text describes the design and implementation of high-performance feedback controllers for engineering systems. It emphasizes the frequency-domain design and methods based on Bode integrals, loop shaping and nonlinear dynamic compensation. The book also supplies numerous problems with practcal applications, illustrations and plots, together with MATLAB simulation and design examples.

This book has much to commend it and I know of no better book for the technician or graduate to learn about automotive electronics.... I am happy to admit that, despite 24 years in the automotive electronics industry, I have learnt many things from it that I did not know before.'
